Who is Manny Leger? Just
some guy. Nobody special, for sure. But maybe his quest to be the coolest guy on
the planet is something to be admired. After all, there are nearly 50,000 others
trying to earn the title of cgotp.

Not in the loop? Ok, let me explain. The "coolest guy on the planet" that I am
referring to here is a competition among search engine optimization enthusiasts-
these guys are in a race to make it to the first position in Google’s search
results for the keyword phrase coolest guy on the planet.  There is
no grand prize for the winner, no bottle of Champaign and no prize money. 
So why do they do it?  Well, the answer to this question is quite simple-

WHY NOT?

Maybe it takes a special kind of person to spend his or her time chasing such
a title, but consider this:

How many people come home every day just to watch one or two particular
television programs?  How many people spend their extra time on some other
project that most would consider "lame" or "a waste of time"?  Everyone has
their own time wasters.  So why not spend ones extra time trying to obtain
some silly title like "the coolest guy on the planet"?
